Truck Tent

truck tenttruck tent review

A truck tent made specifically for that purpose is a good concept but they are expensive.  The SansBug instant pop up tent is so much easier, quicker and cheaper.  Plus, you don’t need half an hour to tear down and set up everytime you move the truck.

There are hordes of sandflies, horseflies, black flies and mosquitoes in the swamps, dense bush and forest up north, so the SansBug is not a toy… it’s a lifesaver.  Oh, and if you’re taller than 6 feet, get the 2-person which offers 7 feet of usable length.

Here’s a review on a Tacoma so the SansBug also fits on a 6 foot bed.  The 1-person is a couple of inches over 7 feet long (remember that because of the sloping ends, usable length is 6 feet) so it will fit with the tailgate down.

The SansBug now has an optional full coverage rain fly which will block wind and should keep you warm when staked to the ground.  On a truck, you won’t need a tarp but it will take a little creativity to place the fly … you may need still need the magnets!

The SansBug is versatile so in addition to being used as a truck tent, it has also been used as a rooftop tent on a Jeep Rubicon and Defender and a boat tent.  Just one tent will work for all your toys.
